This is Jimmy Mack's rendition of the song Jimmy Rogers heard the choir singing at The Light Tabernacle. Jediah Hargett invited Jimmy to join him at the tabernacle the night Jimmy jumped from the Langford Memorial Bridge. This song, along with the message Jimmy heard from Preacher Barnes and especially Jimmy's life changing spiritual experience leads Jimmy to finally make the break from his father's belief "life is a cruel joke, barely worth living." Perhaps now he can solve the mystery behind the death of his two closest friends David and David's girlfriend Cathy.
People like to talk about the things they used to do, and tell you at the same time life is all up to you. We don't know why we love them like we do, and if we go on listening, our love is sure to shine through. People have to find themselves, and find their own way, just like you said they did back in your day. We weren't even born, we still had to be saved we weren't even born, we still had to pay.
People get ready for love. People get ready for love. People get ready for love. People get ready for love why do people talk about the things they used to do, and tell you at the same time life is all up to you. We don't know why we love them like we do, and if we go on listening, our love is sure to shine through. They don't care as long as it's the truth.
I said now, get ready, get ready for love, people get ready, get ready for love for love. Gonna let loose baby, people get ready, get ready for love for love. All right babe, all right babe, all right. I said, people get ready, get ready for love for love, help me now. People get ready, get ready for love for love. Help me now, help me. People got to, got to get ready for love for love
