Jimmy played guitar and sang with The Rhythm Kings for the first time at the high school sock hop to a rousing reception. Later, at Professor Remember’s Cafe, as the band celebrated over burgers, shakes and fries Jimmy saw Marie for the first time and was so love-struck he wrote Lickity Split, (a tune that became one of The Rhythm Kings’ biggest hits, albeit in another galaxy). Is Jimmy moving at light speed instead of The Light’s speed? As The Rhythm Kings practiced Jimmy’s new song someone stole their van and the wild car chase begins.
Lickity split, lickity split, won't you come here quick. Lickity split, lickity split, I won't pull no tricks. Lickity split, lickity split, I can'take it like this. Lickity split, lickity split, I really need a kiss.
I've been trying to find you, you got no where to hide. My love is burning, deep down inside. And if I can't find you, I think I will die. I just wanna hold you, here by side. Oh baby lickity split, lickity split, I think I need some kicks. Lickity split, lickity split, I can't get 'em like this. Lickity split, lickity split, you better get here quick. Lickity split, lickity split, I said I just can't quit.
I said, first time I saw you, I broke down inside. I feel very foolish, I got nowhere to hide. You know that you love me, and that ain't a lie. Let's get together and share what's inside. I've been tryin' to find you, you've got no where to hide. My love is burning deep down inside. And if I can't find you, I think I will die. I just want to hold you, here by my side.
Oh baby, lickity split, lickity split, I think I 'm going down quick. Lickity split, lickity split, I think I 'm gonna get sick. Lickity split, lickity split, I can't take it like this. Lickity split, lickity split, I really need a kiss.
